My favorite thing to do is nibble.. I nibble on sweet treats, savory, vegetables.. whatever I can find!
I love a good cookie, crunchy on the outside but almost soft on the inside.. I also love experimenting with ingredients and flavors, so you can imagine how excited I was to go home with the White Star Instant Porridge packs!
The packs come in 5 Flavors, Banana, Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Original. Each of these would make the tastiest cookies, but I decided to use the Original Flavor for this particular recipe!
You’ll Need :
1 Cup White Star Instant Porridge in Original Flavor
1 1/2 Cups of flour
1 1/2 teaspoons of Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
1 Egg Yolk
1/2 cup of sugar
4 Sprigs of Thyme
Rind of 1/2 Lemon
Pre-heat oven at 220 degrees celsius
How To :
Mix all your dry products together first, and mix in the Thyme Flowers and lemon rind, now add in your butter and crumble in with your fingers, to make a bread crumb like texture.
Once all mixed in, add your egg yolk, and knead until a ball is formed.
You can now rollout your dough to about 1 cm height, and shape in to desired shapes.
Reduce your oven to 180 degrees celsius and place your cookies in for 15 minutes until golden brown!
Your house will be filled with the amazing aroma of lemon and thyme.. try not to burn your fingers and wait for the cookies to cool before you indulge!
