Dining At The Chefs Table..

So guys, the most exciting thing happened to me this week! I got an invitation to attend a chefs table, with the team at O.R Tambo Intercontinental. The award winning executive chef Yoshan Naidu, was showcasing a few items from their Winter menu at the Quills restaurant, which will be rolled out in May. The food is absolutely delectable.  Both aesthetically and in taste!

The best part about this event, was that it was an interactive set up so we got to actually make (work) for our food! hahaha.. The first thing we made was a salmon roulade served with a spring roll and fish cake, and then for mains we made Pomme William served with the most tender chicken balloutine ,crispy pork belly bits, seasonal veggies and a rich jus. Dessert was a beautiful classic, peaches and cream.

The different courses were paired with different wines, and I wish I’d had the sense to jot them down.. but great South African wines!
We also had different breads served with the most incredible butter spreads ( I’m salivating ) The most interesting being charcoal activated bread.. Stark black I tell you, tastes like heaven!

The incredible love and passion for food comes through in how it’s made and served, and I would suggest you book a table for an evening of pure indulgence and much deserved spoiling for your tastebuds!

Well done to the team on such a wonderful event,the hospitality you displayed is second to none! Will definitely be back!
