So I’m back and I’m excited to share this recipe with you!
Believe it or not, I hardly go grocery shopping anymore, and so I’m always forced to come up with awesome recipes with whatever I have in the house!
Sometimes it’s a miss, but sometimes like now, it becomes a really great something!
I’d received a gift from the awesome team at Olive Pride and in that was a range of olives, different oils and balsamic vinegar! I decided I’d make myself a Greece inspired pizza but with proudly South African flavor and these premium products!
So I have this onion “relish” that I absolutely LOVE! It’s an original recipe and I really wanna keep it a secret and make millions off it, but I love you so I’ll share it! I use it on everything! Cheese toast, Burgers, it’s amazing!!
You’ll Need ( For the Relish)
1 Large Onion Sliced
1/4 Cup of white sugar
1/4 Cup of Olive Pride Balsamic Vinegar
1 Clove Garlic
1 Tsp Chilli Flakes or Cayenne pepper
Olive Pride Blended Oil
How To (For The Relish)
Heat up your Olive Pride Oil, and when it’s warmed up, add your onions and let them cook until they are starting to brown, then add your chilli flakes and your sugar and your Balsamic vinegar.
Have it on a low heat until the “sauce” has reduced and slightly thickened and remove from the heat. It’s absolutely gorgeous I promise!!
Now lets make our pizza!
Now I don’t make traditional pizza dough, mainly because I’m lazy but also because this is equally good and super quick for me!
You’ll Need :
1 cup flour
1/2 pack of yeast
Pinch of Salt
1 Spoon Sugar
1/2 Cup lukewarm water
Olive Pride Olives black and white pitted
Beef or chicken or lamb strips
Add your sugar, salt and yeast to your water, and let it sit for about 2 minutes till it foams up. Then add your flour and knead till you have a nice firm dough. Leave in the dish and let proof for an hour, knead again and leave until ready to use.
Turn onto flour surface and roll out to desired thickness, and then transfer on sheet brushed with Olive Pride Oil.
Pop into hot oven for about 5 minutes and then pull it back out. Spread with your relish, your olives, steak and feta. Then put back in the oven for 10 minutes! Once cool enough, tear with your hands and enjoy!!
Serve with a glass of white wine and share with someone you love!
